Aufgaben Job Description
John Crane in Vellmar is seeking to recruit an Engineering Team Lead to join the company on a permanent basis.

In this role, you will be responsible for planning, leading and organizing different specialized site workstreams of the Filtration Center of Excellence (CoE).
Leadership is given to a team of two workgroups: Design Engineering and Bidding / Application Engineering.

You will work closely with the other CoE teams worldwide and with other functions such as the sales, project management, manufacturing and supply chain to ensure the techno-commercial contribution of the full order-to-cash process for filtration solutions in strategic application areas.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Management of subordinate teams of design engineering and bidding / application engineering
  • Achievement of business’s annual operating budget by engineering targets while maintaining costs
  • Efficient support of GeoMarket and Business Development sales force, in delivering necessary technical specifications, feasibility studies and costing for inquired products
  • Timely delivery of technical proposals, manufacturing drawings / BOMs for filter solutions, elements, tools as well as the necessary product documentation
  • Resolving of production non-conformances, quality issues, and RCAs
  • Development and maintenance of product sizing and selection tools, as well as development and / or enhancement of standard working procedures
  • Continuous improvement, standardization, VAVE, and other strategic initiatives
  • Understand future filtration trends and derive needed technologies and products, and challenges the current status and driving innovation out of it
  • Prepare and submit annual budgets to the CoE Management as well as regular reports to the CoE Director (Inquiries and Design Order requests, corresponding personnel and capex needs, KPI and development objectives)
  • Reporting on team performance, project acquisition and execution
  • Develop team skills and competences tailored to organization support requirements, identify talents and create together with management and HR specific talent development programs
  • Completes other assignments as directed

  • Master degree (or equivalent) in an Engineering discipline or similar
  • Solid engineering and/or commercial bidding experience including people management
  • Knowledge of filtration in related industries, e.g. Polymer, Pharmaceutical, Chemical, Aerospace, Refinery or Turbomachinery; affinity with filtration and/or separation as essential technology in process industry
  • Ability to work in an international environment with functional teams spread over various regions including corresponding willingness to travel
  • Self-starter and highly motivated to achieve results with limited direct supervision
  • Excellent people skills and proven ability to lead a team
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and German,  proficiency in MS Office
